Pacing and the Two-Pass Method · Overview

Pacing and the Two-Pass Method

This module goes past the per-question averages. It teaches the two-pass method, which answers the quick questions first and comes back to the slow ones, and then gives each section its own routine: checkpoints for English, a 2-minute cap for Math, a passage-set plan for Reading, and passage triage for Science.

Every lesson works with real numbers: minutes used, questions finished, and seconds per question. By the end you can tell, at any point in a section, whether you're ahead or behind and what to do about it.

How often it appears

Every section on every test date. English has 50 questions in 35 minutes, Math 45 in 50, Reading 36 in 40, and the optional Science section 40 in 40. There is no penalty for guessing, so a pacing plan that ends with no blanks is worth points in all of them.
