Why not 100%?
The 20% cut is taken from the higher price, so it removes more than the 20% increase added.

Yes. In the standard full-length tests, Module 2 of each section is the harder version if you get 60% or more of Module 1 right, and the easier version if you don’t. Challenge tests use the hardest material throughout.
Official timing, extended 1.5× time, or untimed, on every test, including the free ones. Extended time allows 48 minutes for each Reading & Writing module and about 52 for each Math module. Untimed removes the clock so you can focus on accuracy.

Time per question in each module
Divide each module's time by its questions and you get your average pace.
Reading and Writing: 32 minutes for 27 questions, about 71 seconds each.
Math: 35 minutes for 22 questions, about 95 seconds each.
These are averages. Questions you know well should take less time, which leaves more for the hard ones.

Checking your pace at one or two checkpoints works better than watching every second. The timer can be hidden, so hide it if it makes you anxious and show it again at your checkpoint.
Time doesn't carry over. Minutes you save in one module are not added to the next, so use spare time to review the module you are in.

How to solve it
- Half of 32 minutes is 16 minutes.
- Half of 27 questions is 13.5, so you should be on question 13 or 14.
Why each choice is right or wrong
- A. Incorrect. 9 questions in 16 minutes is well behind the 71-second pace.
- B. Correct. Half the questions in half the time keeps you on pace.
- C. Incorrect. 20 questions in 16 minutes would be about 48 seconds each, much faster than you need to go.
- D. Incorrect. 27 is every question in the module.

In a Math module, Leo has 20 minutes left and 12 questions to go. Compared with the module's average pace, where is Leo?
- Behind, because he has more than 2 minutes per question left
- Slightly ahead, because he has 100 seconds per remaining questionAnswer

How to solve it
- 20 minutes is 1,200 seconds.
- 1,200 ÷ 12 = 100 seconds per remaining question.
- The module's average is about 95 seconds, so Leo has a little more time than average.
Why each choice is right or wrong
- A. Incorrect. 1,200 seconds for 12 questions is 100 seconds each, less than 2 minutes, and more time per question means ahead, not behind.
- B. Correct. 100 seconds per question is slightly more than the 95-second average.
- C. Incorrect. On-pace would be about 95 seconds per question. Leo has 100.
- D. Incorrect. Leo has 100 seconds per question, well over a minute.
