Why not 100%?
The 20% cut is taken from the higher price, so it removes more than the 20% increase added.

Yes. In the standard full-length tests, Module 2 of each section is the harder version if you get 60% or more of Module 1 right, and the easier version if you don’t. Challenge tests use the hardest material throughout.
Official timing, extended 1.5× time, or untimed, on every test, including the free ones. Extended time allows 48 minutes for each Reading & Writing module and about 52 for each Math module. Untimed removes the clock so you can focus on accuracy.

How the test adapts · Lesson 0
Two sections, four modules
The digital SAT has two sections, taken in this order: Reading and Writing, then Math. Each section is split into two modules, and there is a 10-minute break between the sections.

Inside a module you can move freely. Skip a question, come back to it, change an answer. Once a module's time runs out or you move on, that module is locked and you can't return to it.
Each section is scored from 200 to 800, and the two add up to a total from 400 to 1600. There is no penalty for a wrong answer.
Worked example Easy
Maya finishes Module 1 of Reading and Writing with six minutes left. She wants to recheck question 4 later, after Module 2 begins. Which statement about her plan is accurate?
- She can return to question 4 at any time before the Reading and Writing section ends.
- She should recheck question 4 now, because she can't return to Module 1 once it ends.Answer
- She can return to question 4 during the break between sections.
- She doesn't need to recheck it, because Module 1 questions are not scored.
How to solve it
- Modules lock when they end. After Maya moves on, Module 1 is closed.
- Her six spare minutes belong to Module 1, so that is the only time she can recheck question 4.
Why each choice is right or wrong
- A. Incorrect. Once Module 1 ends, it is locked, even though the section continues with Module 2.
- B. Correct. Her remaining Module 1 time is the only chance to recheck a Module 1 question.
- C. Incorrect. The break comes after the whole Reading and Writing section, and no questions are open during it.
- D. Incorrect. Module 1 questions are scored. Only 2 pretest questions in each module are unscored, and you can't tell which they are.

How to solve it
- A Math module is 35 minutes, which is 35 × 60 = 2,100 seconds.
- It has 22 questions, so 2,100 ÷ 22 ≈ 95 seconds per question.
Why each choice is right or wrong
- A. Incorrect. About 71 seconds is the Reading and Writing average: 32 minutes for 27 questions.
- B. Incorrect. At 80 seconds each, 22 questions would take about 29 minutes, not the 35 minutes a Math module allows.
- C. Correct. 35 minutes is 2,100 seconds, and 2,100 ÷ 22 is about 95 seconds.
- D. Incorrect. At 2 minutes each, 22 questions would take 44 minutes, more than the 35 minutes available.
