The 20% cut is taken from the higher price, so it removes more than the 20% increase added.

Yes. In the standard full-length tests, Module 2 of each section is the harder version if you get 60% or more of Module 1 right, and the easier version if you don’t. Challenge tests use the hardest material throughout.
Official timing, extended 1.5× time, or untimed, on every test, including the free ones. Extended time allows 48 minutes for each Reading & Writing module and about 52 for each Math module. Untimed removes the clock so you can focus on accuracy.

Semicolons and colons
A semicolon does two jobs on the SAT. It joins two independent clauses, and it separates items in a list when the items already contain commas.
When a semicolon joins clauses, both sides must be able to stand alone. If either side is a dependent clause or a phrase, the semicolon is wrong.
A colon introduces something that explains, lists or illustrates what came before. The rule that decides most colon questions: the words before the colon must be a complete sentence. The words after it can be a list, a single word, a phrase or another full clause.
That means no colon directly after a verb (includes:), a preposition (of:), or such as. In those spots the sentence isn't complete yet.

A typical honeybee colony contains three types of a single queen, thousands of female workers, and a few hundred male drones.
Which choice completes the text so that it conforms to the conventions of Standard English?

- A typical honeybee colony contains three types of bees is a complete sentence.
- What follows is a list that names those three types.
- A colon after a complete sentence introduces a list, so bees: is correct.
Why each choice is right or wrong
- A. Correct. The words before the colon form a complete sentence, and the colon introduces the list that explains three types of bees.
- B. Incorrect. A semicolon joining clauses needs an independent clause on each side, and the list after it is not a clause.
- C. Incorrect. With no punctuation, three types of bees a single queen runs the list into the sentence with nothing to introduce it.
- D. Incorrect. A colon directly after including separates that word from the list it introduces. The sentence before the colon is not complete.

The traveling exhibit will stop in three cities this year: Lagos, Accra, Ghana; and Dakar, Senegal.

- When list items contain commas, semicolons separate the items so the reader can tell where each one ends. The rest of the list already uses semicolons.
- The first item, Lagos, Nigeria, must end with a semicolon too.
Why each choice is right or wrong
- A. Incorrect. A colon would introduce an explanation of Lagos, Nigeria, but Accra, Ghana is the next item in the list.
- B. Incorrect. A comma here makes it unclear whether Nigeria is a separate stop, and it breaks the semicolon pattern the list already uses.
- C. Correct. A semicolon separates Lagos, Nigeria from the next item, matching the semicolon before and Dakar, Senegal.
- D. Incorrect. With no punctuation, Nigeria Accra runs two items together.
