How it works

A quick run every day. One skill at a time.

  1. 1

    Play the Daily.

A quick run with three hearts. String right answers together and the questions get harder and the points multiply.

  2. 2

    Miss one, learn why.

Every question is tagged by domain and skill, and every answer comes with an explanation.

  3. 3

    Drill that skill.

Practice any single skill at any difficulty, or just the questions you got wrong.

  4. 4

    Beat your best.

Come back tomorrow and climb. Progress shows your accuracy and your strongest skills.

Built on the digital SAT blueprint.

Every question is tagged by section, domain, skill and difficulty, so you can practice exactly what you need. Full tests run like test day: two Reading & Writing modules, a break, then two Math modules.

Explanations

Every answer, explained.

Not just the right letter: how to get there, and why the tempting answer is wrong.

MathProblem-Solving and Data AnalysisHard

A store raises the price of a jacket by 20%. Later, it lowers the new price by 20%. The final price is what percent of the original price?

A80%
B96%Correct
C100%The trap
D104%

Check with $100: $100then$120then$96

  1. Turn each change into a multiplier.

    Up 20% means × 1.20. Down 20% means × 0.80.

  2. Apply them in order.

    1.20 × 0.80 = 0.96

  3. Read the answer.

The final price is 96% of the original. That’s B.

  4. Why not 100%?

The 20% cut is taken from the higher price, so it removes more than the 20% increase added.

98 questions across four modules, in the same order as the digital SAT: Reading & Writing Module 1 and Module 2 (27 questions each), a 10-minute break, then Math Module 1 and Module 2 (22 questions each). On official timing that’s 2 hr 14 min of testing. You get estimated section scores and a total at the end.

Yes. In the standard full-length tests, Module 2 of each section is the harder version if you get 60% or more of Module 1 right, and the easier version if you don’t. Challenge tests are built from harder material in every module.

Official timing, extended 1.5× time, or untimed, on every test, including the free ones. Extended time allows 48 minutes for each Reading & Writing module and about 52 for each Math module. Untimed removes the clock so you can focus on accuracy.

A quick run with three hearts. Each right answer builds your streak: the questions get harder as it grows, and your points multiply (×2 from three in a row, ×3 from six). A miss costs a heart and drops you back to easy. Best is your longest streak.

Predictions and new information

Prediction questions add a trial the researchers did not run: If the students had tested 28 °C... Find the two rows that bracket the new value and check the trend between them. If the data rise steadily, the new result lands between the two neighbors (interpolation). Beyond the last row, continue the trend in the same direction (extrapolation).

Before you predict, make sure you are in the right study. A new trial "under the conditions of Study 2" must be read from Study 2's table, even if Study 1 has a row with a matching number.

New-information questions give a result and ask what it shows or whether it supports a claim. Find the existing trial that matches the new one in every condition except one, compare the two results, and let the numbers decide. A claim is supported only if the data actually test it: a study that never varied wind speed says nothing about wind.

Prediction and support questions
Question says...Do this
"would most likely be" (value inside the range)Bracket it between the two nearest rows
"would most likely be" (value beyond the range)Continue the trend; check whether the steps are growing or shrinking
"Is the hypothesis supported?"Check the claim against every row, including how much each step changes
"A new trial gave X. This suggests..."Compare X with the existing trial that matches it in all but one condition

Worked example Easy

Students measured how much water evaporates from an open pan. In every trial, a pan with a surface area of 300 cm² held 500 mL of water inside a closed chamber kept at a relative humidity of 40%, and the volume of water lost after 24 hours was measured.

Study 1

The chamber's air temperature was set to different values, with no fan running.

Table 1

Air temperature (°C)Water lost in 24 h (mL)
1522
2031
2542
3056
3573

Study 2

The air temperature was kept at 25 °C, and a fan blew air across the pan at different wind speeds.

Table 2

Wind speed (m/s)Water lost in 24 h (mL)
042
160
274
385

If Study 1 had included a trial at 28 °C, the volume of water lost in 24 h would most likely have been:

  1. less than 31 mL.
  2. between 31 mL and 42 mL.
  3. between 42 mL and 56 mL.Answer
  4. more than 56 mL.

How to solve it

  1. Use Study 1 (Table 1), since the new trial belongs to Study 1.
  2. Bracket 28 °C: it lies between the 25 °C row (42 mL) and the 30 °C row (56 mL).
  3. Water loss rises at every step in Table 1, so a 28 °C trial should lose between 42 mL and 56 mL: choice C.

Why each choice is right or wrong

  • A. Incorrect. Less than 31 mL matches temperatures below 20 °C in Table 1, but 28 °C is warmer than 25 °C, which already lost 42 mL.
  • B. Incorrect. Between 31 mL and 42 mL is the range for 20 °C to 25 °C; 28 °C lies above that range.
  • C. Correct. 28 °C falls between the 25 °C and 30 °C rows of Table 1, which lost 42 mL and 56 mL, and water loss rises steadily with temperature.
  • D. Incorrect. More than 56 mL would fit a temperature above 30 °C; 28 °C is below 30 °C, so the loss should be less than 56 mL.

Worked example Medium

042
160
274
385

Based on Study 2, if the fan had produced a wind speed of 1.5 m/s, the volume of water lost in 24 h would have been closest to:

  1. 51 mL
  2. 67 mLAnswer
  3. 79 mL
  4. 88 mL

How to solve it

  1. Wind speed is Study 2's variable, so use Table 2, not Table 1.
  2. 1.5 m/s lies halfway between 1 m/s (60 mL) and 2 m/s (74 mL).
  3. Halfway between 60 and 74 is 67, so the best estimate is 67 mL.

Why each choice is right or wrong

  • A. Incorrect. 51 mL lies between the 0 m/s (42 mL) and 1 m/s (60 mL) rows of Table 2; 1.5 m/s is faster than 1 m/s, so the loss should be above 60 mL.
  • B. Correct. 1.5 m/s is halfway between 1 m/s (60 mL) and 2 m/s (74 mL) in Table 2, and halfway between 60 mL and 74 mL is 67 mL.
  • C. Incorrect. 79 mL lies between the 2 m/s (74 mL) and 3 m/s (85 mL) rows, so it fits a wind speed near 2.5 m/s, not 1.5 m/s.
  • D. Incorrect. 88 mL is more than the 85 mL lost at 3 m/s, the fastest wind tested, far above what 1.5 m/s would produce.

Trap Reading the wrong study

Several studies often share a value (25 °C appears in both studies here). A prediction about wind speed must come from the wind-speed table. Before you read a number, name the study and the table the question points to.

Trap Supported by the data, or just true?

A choice can state something true about another experiment, or a fact you know from class, and still be wrong because the study the question names never tested it. "Supported by Study 1" means Study 1's own rows show it.

Full-length tests

Each test mirrors the digital SAT®: 98 questions across four modules, 2 hr 14 min on official timing.

A little harder on purpose. These tests can run slightly tougher than test day, which makes them good practice: if you can handle these, the real one should feel easier. No question appears in more than one test, Challenge Tests included.

Challenge Tests Hardest of the hardest

Same 98-question format, built from harder material: a hard Module 1, then a Module 2 made mostly of the hardest questions.
