How it works

A quick run every day. One skill at a time.

  1. 1

    Play the Daily.

A quick run with three hearts. String right answers together and the questions get harder and the points multiply.

  2. 2

    Miss one, learn why.

Every question is tagged by domain and skill, and every answer comes with an explanation.

  3. 3

    Drill that skill.

Practice any single skill at any difficulty, or just the questions you got wrong.

  4. 4

    Beat your best.

Come back tomorrow and climb. Progress shows your accuracy and your strongest skills.

Built on the digital SAT blueprint.

Every question is tagged by section, domain, skill and difficulty, so you can practice exactly what you need. Full tests run like test day: two Reading & Writing modules, a break, then two Math modules.

Explanations

Every answer, explained.

Not just the right letter: how to get there, and why the tempting answer is wrong.

MathProblem-Solving and Data AnalysisHard

A store raises the price of a jacket by 20%. Later, it lowers the new price by 20%. The final price is what percent of the original price?

A80%
B96%Correct
C100%The trap
D104%

Check with $100: $100then$120then$96

  1. Turn each change into a multiplier.

    Up 20% means × 1.20. Down 20% means × 0.80.

  2. Apply them in order.

    1.20 × 0.80 = 0.96

  3. Read the answer.

The final price is 96% of the original. That’s B.

  4. Why not 100%?

The 20% cut is taken from the higher price, so it removes more than the 20% increase added.

98 questions across four modules, in the same order as the digital SAT: Reading & Writing Module 1 and Module 2 (27 questions each), a 10-minute break, then Math Module 1 and Module 2 (22 questions each). On official timing that’s 2 hr 14 min of testing. You get estimated section scores and a total at the end.

Yes. In the standard full-length tests, Module 2 of each section is the harder version if you get 60% or more of Module 1 right, and the easier version if you don’t. Challenge tests are built from harder material in every module.

Official timing, extended 1.5× time, or untimed, on every test, including the free ones. Extended time allows 48 minutes for each Reading & Writing module and about 52 for each Math module. Untimed removes the clock so you can focus on accuracy.

A quick run with three hearts. Each right answer builds your streak: the questions get harder as it grows, and your points multiply (×2 from three in a row, ×3 from six). A miss costs a heart and drops you back to easy. Best is your longest streak.

Every day at midnight Central Time. You get a fresh 9 easy, 9 medium, 9 hard and 9 challenging.

Pronoun case and clear reference

A pronoun's case depends on its job in the sentence. Use the subject form when the pronoun does the action and the object form when it receives the action or follows a preposition such as to, for, with, or between.

The ACT hides case errors inside pairs: my cousin and me built, between Marcus and I. To test one, drop the other person and read the pronoun alone: me built is clearly wrong, so it should be my cousin and I built. Reflexive forms (myself, herself) are for when the subject acts on itself (I taught myself) or for emphasis; they cannot replace I or me in a pair.

For who and whom, substitute he or him. If he fits, use who; if him fits, use whom. In the volunteer they thanked, you would say they thanked him, so it is whom.

A pronoun also needs clear reference: a reader must be able to tell which noun it stands for. If she could mean either of two people, or it could mean several things, replace the pronoun with the noun it should name.

Subject and object pronouns
Subject (does the action)Object (receives the action; after a preposition)
Ime
he / shehim / her
weus
theythem
whowhom

Worked example Easy

Last summer, my cousin and me built a small wooden canoe in her grandfather's garage. The project took eight weekends, and the first test launch on the lake went smoothly.

Which choice is correct?

  1. NO CHANGE
  2. and myself built
  3. and us built
  4. and I builtAnswer

How to solve it

  1. The underlined pair is the subject of the verb built, so the pronoun needs the subject case.
  2. Drop my cousin and test: me built is wrong; I built is right.
  3. Choose my cousin and I built a small wooden canoe.

Why each choice is right or wrong

  • A. Incorrect. Me is an object pronoun, but here it is part of the subject of built; me built shows the error.
  • B. Incorrect. Myself is reflexive and needs an earlier I in the sentence to refer back to; it cannot serve as the subject of built.
  • C. Incorrect. Us is an object pronoun, so it cannot be part of the subject of built (us built is wrong); it is also plural, so it would add more people than the writer and the cousin.
  • D. Correct. The pair is the subject of built, so it takes the subject pronoun: my cousin and I built a small wooden canoe.

Worked example Medium

Maya lent her camera to her friend Priya for a weekend camping trip. When Priya returned it on Monday, she noticed right away that the lens cap was missing and asked whether it might still be in the tent.

Which choice makes the sentence clearest?

  1. NO CHANGE
  2. MayaAnswer
  3. her
  4. herself

How to solve it

  1. Two women are named, Maya and Priya, so ask whom she refers to.
  2. She could point to either one, so the sentence is unclear. Replace the pronoun with a noun.
  3. The owner checking her returned camera and asking about the tent is Maya: When Priya returned it on Monday, Maya noticed right away….

Why each choice is right or wrong

  • A. Incorrect. She could mean Maya or Priya, so a reader cannot tell who noticed the missing lens cap.
  • B. Correct. Naming Maya removes the doubt and makes sense: the owner notices the missing cap when her camera comes back.
  • C. Incorrect. Her is an object pronoun and cannot be the subject of noticed; it would also stay unclear about which woman is meant.
  • D. Incorrect. Herself is reflexive and cannot stand alone as the subject of noticed; there is no earlier she in that clause for it to refer back to.

Trap Pairs that hide the wrong case

Between you and I, my friend and me went, and the coach gave Lena and I all sound polished to many ears. Cover the other person and read the pronoun alone. If gave I or me went sounds wrong, so does the pair. And skip myself unless the sentence already has an I for it to point back to.

Trap A pronoun with two possible owners

When a sentence names two people of the same gender, or several things, a pronoun such as she, it, or they may point to more than one of them. On the ACT, the fix is usually the specific noun. Grammar alone does not settle these: ask whether a reader could honestly be unsure who or what is meant.

Full-length tests

Each test mirrors the digital SAT®: 98 questions across four modules, 2 hr 14 min on official timing.

A little harder on purpose. These tests can run slightly tougher than test day, which makes them good practice: if you can handle these, the real one should feel easier. No question appears in more than one test, Challenge Tests included.

Challenge Tests Hardest of the hardest

Same 98-question format, built from harder material: a hard Module 1, then a Module 2 made mostly of the hardest questions.
